The day finally arrived and what an awesome wedding to kick off our wedding season with! As we neared the venue, little blackboard hearts like these, welcomed us:
…and what a beautiful enchanting view we had as we drove through the farm gates, just have a look at this:
The framed blackboard messages formed a theme throughout the wedding scene and added a homey personal touch, almost like a personal letter of invitation to this long-awaited fairytale event…
Duo Decadence played Danel in on the Mendelssohn Wedding March and out on the Trumpet Tune. The ring bearer, flower girls and bridesmaids made an entrance on Air on a G-string by J.S. Bach. After a warm-hearted and intimate ceremony, the guests moved down to the pre-drinks area on a lovely green lawn where everyone enjoyed some cool drinks and popcorn, marshmallows – all pink and white sweeties, almost a “mini candy picnic” feel… This is where Duo Decadence wedding music entertained the wedding guests on light classical violin and clarinet minuets. What a relaxed, well-organized, everything-in-place wedding this was! It makes our ‘job’ so special…
Our music hour at pre-drinks ended well in time. As the last guests made their way up to the wedding hall, we played our last few notes and peacefully packed away our stands and books.
A day in our calendar to be marked with a little pink heart! We left with precious memories and an awesome view as we drove down the gravel road towards Polkadraai …
Thanks to the mother of the groom who hired us to provide live background music for this special wedding day; it was a feast! We noticed how much the family cared for the bridal couple and how much they in return appreciated everybody’s input. It warms our hearts to experience true love.
Directions to Kenly Wine Farm:
ps… I’ve noticed on my website stats that many visitors reach this post when they are looking for a map to Kenly wine estate – If you drive towards Stellenbosch on the Polkadraai, then you take the very first turnoff to your right after Skilpadvlei. The Kenly sign is small and black, there are quite a number of sign boards, just look out! Enjoy Kenly.
